In association with Green Streets Initiative we present
Family Bike Ride River Ride
Saturday June 8th, 2024 @ 11:00AM
(rain date: June 9th)
Healey School Somerville
Join us for the Family Bike Ride River Ride! A ride celebrating glorious bicycle friendly infrastructure along the Mystic and Malden Rivers and a small part of the Northern Strand.
This is our first bonus ride outside of our main seasonal rides. Bonus rides stretch our standard event formula but are still designed to appeal to most of our family attendees. This ride will be about twice as long as our average ride at 4.5-6 miles each way. It may not appeal to emerging self propelled children that don't have the option to hop on and off of a cargo bike that can tow kids bikes. Unlike our typical rides, for this event we will have a group return ride back to the start point. Like our typical rides, this rides is curated for safety, with minimal auto crossings.
Our destination will be the amazing Rivergreen Park in Everett at the time of the City of Everett and Green Streets Initiative Transportation Fair, which will feature food trucks, bike decorating, crafts, a kids bike ride and for the adults lots of tables to learn about what various org are doing in the area of transportation innovation. We will not be bringing our own play equipment for this event.
Parents must accompany children at all times.
Registration (one registration per family): click here.
There is no fee to register, event is open to public, donations are encouraged to support Family Bike Ride operations. We are a parent organized group. We receive some support from sponsors but rely on participant financial support as well.
